Frequently Asked Questions

Eyelash Extensions

What are eyelash extensions and how are they applied?

Eyelash extensions are a luxurious beauty treatment where very fine, cruelty-free, high quality Polybutylene terephthalate (PBT) fibers, made to look like real lashes, are bonded individually to each of your own lashes to enhance the length, curl, color and fullness of your lashes.

They can be natural & light (for those just wanting to skip mascara) or full & dramatic (for the extra girlies 🫦) each set is customized to your liking.

Classic, Wet Set, Hybrid, Volume, Color, Cat Eye, Doll Eye… you can have it your way!

HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE?

It all depends on how full you want your set. More time = more lashes.

Your firsts appointment will be the longest as we are starting from scratch.

Generally a Full Set takes 1-1/2 hours - 3 hours depending on:

how full you want them, the type of style, and ease of application. You can help your appointment go faster by making sure you arrive with NO MAKEUP and are able to relax.

TIP: Skip the coffee, use the restroom before, dress comfy, listen to a podcast, take a nappy 😴

Your appointment will fly by and your lash artist will thank you!

How long do they last?

It depends on you and your aftercare.

The bond of the extensions to your natural lashes lasts 6-8 weeks but this can be jeopardized by not cleansing properly or using the wrong products causing the bond to weaken and the extensions to fall out.

Then we also have mother nature in the mix. Our lashes, just like the rest of the hair on our bodies, grows and sheds. We shed approximately 3-5 natural lashes a day so depending on your individual lash growth cycle, you will have lost plenty in 2 weeks to look like you need a fill.

What is a fill?

A fill is a maintenance appointment where we remove any out-grown, twisted, funky-looking lashes; replace those and add fresh ones to all those new lashes that have grown in. I will also review your lash health and make sure they are staying clean and healthy!

Do eyelash extensions damage my natural lashes?

They sure can, if not applied or maintained properly.

As your lash specialist, it is my responsibility to keep your natural lashes healthy. I will make sure the extensions I use are of the appropriate length and weight for your lashes so it does not over-weigh them and cause premature fall out of your natural lashes.

Maintenance, or lack of, will also damage your lashes. If you wait too long in-between fills, and the extensions are hanging on the tips of your natural lashes, they will not only cause premature fall out, it could lead to permanent loss.

And don’t forget to keep them clean! Not cleaning properly will create buildup of yuckyness (dirt, oils, makeup, dead skin cells…yep) at your lashes line blocking hair follicles and preventing those new lashes from growing and thriving in a healthy environment. Not cleaning your lashes also leads to irritation, infection, and blepharitis. (Just get the lash cleanser 💁🏻‍♀️)
